Firefox Growing in Popularity
The number of people using Firefox, Apple's Safari and other non-Microsoft based Web browsers is growing, according to data released this week from NetApplications.
NetApplications; a leader in Web-based applications that measure, monitor and market Web sites for the Small to Medium Enterprise; announced this week through its monthly Web site traffic analysis that Firefox use reached 10 percent of the total Internet browser use. While Microsoft continued to be the most used with 85 percent of the market, Safari also gained a tenth of a percentage point growing to nearly 3 percent of the total market.
The data was collected from over 40,000 Hitslink.com-monitored global Web sites and compiled from global traffic statistics from Web sites tracked by NetApplications' Hitslink.com.
